There is a "spare" plug normally in the RHS of the loom under the tank, which looks like the one in your picture. It just hangs there doing jack. As above, if there's no code, don't fix it.

If you can locate that empty connector and your air temp sensor fits that might be the answer to the problem which you think that you have.
