You may be a Spelling Nazi but old mate you know feck all about bricks ,yes you can build any shape brick you want ,but if you don't use the tradition rectangular brick you cannot get a bond and your vertical joints would be in a line without making a half brick to start , also how would the bricklayer bond the corners with square bricks you would end up with BUTTED corners with the two or more walls not bonded and they could just fall over

I think the cost of manufacturing clay bricks with Lego type locking lugs to hold them together would be excessive to say the least ,
