Licence plate relocation

hey Mitch,
post a pic or link to the silver bullets you got that got scratched.
I might be able to use em if you're gonna get rid of em.

will do mate when i get a chance ill have to use them till i get new ones though or i wont be able to ride her to work

The rivco one is mangled mate it got jammed between my wheel and gaurd

i have no indicators at the moment and one of the hollow bolts that mount my kuryayakyn silver bullets got lost so ill be scanning the hd shops that stock them tomorrow and hopefully get her wired up atleast.
not sure im gonna make it saturday becoase now im going to have to shell out for my rear gaurd to be straightened out and resprayed and two new silver bullets for the rear i cant claim insurance cos my excess is $1000 due to previous claims and my five year old is starting school in a few weeks and needs all the books uniforms and the bullcrap that goes with it so i think my bike is going to be shedbound till i sort it all out.

its been an expensive day all due to a flimsy piece of rivco rubbish
A mates got a ****load of HD parts and old aftermarket stuff, i grabbed a couple of bullet indicators off him a while back but gave them back to him. Sing out if you want me to give him a call. No worries about Saturday mate, but offers still there.

Thanks Trev good onya mate
Ive just been out in the shed and modified the standard one "stronger than the rivco anyway" and i have the kury back plate and brackets which i have used to modify the standard one so that the kury bullets clear the edge of the number plate. ill just have to pick up that hollow mounting bolt now and ill be able to wire up the scratched ones till i get the new ones. after i get the gaurd sprayed and the dings removed she will be good as new :)

To top the day off i was taking my mum for a ride on the bike when this happened as she came up for the xmas break and while i was unjamming the license plate and indicaters from under the rear gaurd she put my shoei helmet down that i loaned her rite on the edge of the road and bumped it and knocked it rolling down a steep drop on the side of the road "we wher on our way to springbrook falls" so i had a bit of bush absailing to do to retreive it . onya mum:rolleyes:

I purchased a Rivco bracket off evilbay last month but haven't fitted it yet. Seems beefy enough. In general, where do they fail and how can I reinforce it? Or shouldn't I bother and get a different one?

Have one on my bike, never given me any problems. Im still running it with the number plate bracket trimmed off. Just got the indicators mounted to it now. Sure there's lots of bikes running them without any problems.

I dont think u will have a problem mate mine failed just below the bolt holes but it would have been due to the extra weight it was carrying .
i dont have the light plastic triumph indicators i have kuruyakyn silver bullets and they are solid and much heavier and also a chrome backing plate which made the load and stress on it alot more.
it wouldnt of failed with the plastic ones on but it definitely isnt as heavy duty or ridged as the triumph one so i have modified that one to suit my needs.

if your running the light plastic standard indicators you will have no problem:cool:

Glad you seem to have it sorted mate. Just remember when ordering the paint for the guard that it's CLARET you want, not RED. ;)

I've also had the Rivco one on for quite a while and haven't had any problems at all, even with a metal plate frame, but I still have the stock signals. Like Mitch said, it was probably due to the weight of the Kuryakins. Either way, the bike looks much better from behind with any other option than the stock plate bracket/signal setup, that's for sure.
