Pig9R
My dealer is telling me my mirrors/levers are push thru like a Harley & not threaded.
He said he talked to Kuryakin & this mod won't work on an '06 Classic..
Any helpful info? I really like the looks of those mirrors..
Unless I am mistaken Pig9r's bike is an 06 Classic. Check out the paint job and handle bars. He listed the parts required and showed you how it is done...go for it man! Most dealers are unfortunately clueless
Screwloose your dealer is correct in that the stock mirrors are push through. However you thread the adapter to the base of the mirror then it goes through the hole and is secured on the bottom with a nut. No different then putting a bolt through a hole and tightening a nut. So it works fine. And yes mine is an '06 Classic too.
I'm stalled on whether the long stems or standards would be most "stylin". Does anyone have the standard stem mod.
I've seen, largely because it hasn't been a querry until very recent, only one bike (HD) with standard stem lengths, or rather significantly shorter that the rest, and it looked pretty good from behind. No apparent arm blockage. My VS1400 has stems shorter that long stems but I don't know that they'd be considered "standard" length.
I'm not a fan of these stock R3 mirrors. Perhaps if the stock stems weren't stinking up in the air like antenna. I see why the '07 Triumph catalog had +75% of the bike images without rear view mirrors.

I have the long-stem Kuryakyn Magnum mirrors. The short-stem wouldn't come up high enough. But I have pullback UC bars. I'd go for the long-stem mirrors.
You may want to also consider relocating your turn signals off the forks with KuryakynTURN SIGNAL MIRRORSI have them on 2 other bikes and will be adding them soon to my R3 as well (I just took delivery of the R3 this last Friday). These work great and in my opinion are much more easily seen by motorists than stock signals. The lense is clear until you turn on your ignition and then they operate as amber running lights which blink with brighter intensity when signaling.
I use theRevenge Cycle turn signal mirrorson my R3. Removing the stock signals from the forks really cleans up the front end and moving the signals up and wider makes them easier to see and safer. The image on these mirrors is very stable. The Revenge mirrors come with an assortment of adapters.
I just put these on yesterday, I never knew there was so much behind me as I was Rocketing down the road. These mirrors are a dramatic improvement over stock, DRAMATIC.
Do you know if these will work with a Corbin Fleetliner fairing? It looks like the fairing will clear no problem, please someone confirm before I order, I also like to add the indicators so maybe the ones listed above would be better, more visible to motorists.
