Does anyone have any experience with the K-Drive saddlebags sold on newr3.com? They look really nice and the price is right. Just wondering about how it affects passenger comfort though. The picture looks like it might interfere with a passenger getting their feet on the pegs.

Hi Bigd34
i know two people with k drive bags on rockets and they both carry a pillion and neither have had any complaints they also look fairly good.
i also had a set but not on my rocket i used to have a honda shadow "but dont hold that against me lol" and i thought they wher good value for money

hope this helps regards Mitch :)

I've had a set of the smaller ones for a few years, They work great. Easy on and off, hold their shape and weather well. I only wish I'd have gotten the next size up that have the locking lids and more space. I was originally afraid they would be too close to the exhaust on my standard, but they aren't even close. The chrome mounts are nice looking with the bags off, they almost look like they are supposed to be there.

I have nothing bad to say about them and they are nicely priced.
You can see them in my avatar ... and how far away from the pipes they are.

The wife never had any difficulty getting around the bags to the pegs. I think the pegs are too far back anyway and just recently installed Kuryakin passenger boards and dogbone adapters to move them forward and out. She's really comfortable back there now with her ButtyBuddy, backrest and fancy floorboards.Link Removed

I've had the 145s on my RIII since I bought her new in 2007 and they have been nothing but great. Easy on/off, take them into the hotel. The only change that I made to them was to lower the bag 1-1/4" by repositioning the bag mount on the back plate. Lowered them because I didn't like look of the bag level with the pillion seat. Installing the dogbones on the passenger floorboards was a good thing for the ol'lady.

Good idea dropping the bags by moving the backing plate ... I'll have to look into that.

I think I'm going to lower mine too ...
How did you reattach the plates to the bags? ... rivets, bolts, gorilla snot?

Ran a set for five years on my Rocket. never a monents problem with them, never any problems with water intrusion. Easy on and off with a way to lock them to the mounting brackets with a key. Like them so much, i kept them when i sold the bike.

They're a great bag, my piillion is only 5' foot tall and she didn't even reliase that we had left a bag off the bike at home, lucky for her it was the one with my stuff in it.
I brought them for mine so I could get through the gate, ie take them off to get through the gate:D
