Today I was riding a pretty twisty road and quite a few times I felt like the back end was not stable in the corners. Additionally, the suspension felt sloppy. I'm not pushing it too hard although I did scrap a couple of times.
I'm riding a stock 07 classic.

So, my question is this:
Is the stock suspension too weak, and can the Metzler Marathons handle twisties very well?

Thanks

Dan

My confidence on the metz fades at higher speeds. On the dragon a couple weeks ago I was comfortable. not so much on 70 mph curves here. I can feel the back moving around in the curves.

I think a combination of both as you mentioned - I too will never run a Metz again

I recently replaced the Metz on the rear of my R3T with a Avon Cobra and was initially disappointed felt a bit "squirmy" in the corners ,I raised the pressure from 36 lbs(the tyre place recommended) pressure to 46lbs and it now feels firmer in the corners ,

Only thing I find about the Metz on the rear is they wear to quickly on the front not to bad.while the Metz,s are new they are as good as any thing else.Just my opinion

I have only run Metz on my Roadster and can say I have never had reason to doubt it's performance in the dry. Big fat tyres don't inspire confidence in the wet at least not in me anyway but in the dry the only times I've ever had it let go is when I've been trying to pull off a tyre smoking power slide.

Yeah I don't like them I've had the arse step out a few times while running the metz hence why I never use them anymore
Same reason I pissed them off was not even getting really serious that and they are a crap wearing tyre

Dependant on the wear , like all tyres .. new or in the first few thousand klms never had one problem or scare with the ME880 rear tyre ..scrubbed they are like any other tyre .. dangerous.
Liked the original shocks on my Rocket when new .. good till around 60,000klms .. then they stopped doing their job.

As been said, Metz is OK when new but not so good after about 2,000km. Stock suspension on my '09 Standard was OK but always a bit wallowy through corners. At 50,000km I swapped them for new Roadster shocks, which have been a vast improvement. Use an Avon, or better still, a Bridgestone, on the rear and get some better shocks and you'll notice a big improvement.
