2025 Triumph Rocket 3 Storm GT
So I looked up my manual on triumphs webpage using my vin number and it shows to use 89 octain or hogher. I looked in the physical book the bike came with and it says 87 octain or higher.

Also noticed the online version seems to have more pages than the book I have although I don't know what they added to the online version. I'm assuming the online book would be the most up to date. Very interesting to say the least since my bike is a 2025.

I use all levels on my 2024 and never had a problem. I have noticed that the projected mileage range does show higher with higher octane fuel when I fill it up but I haven’t tested to see if it translates to actual mileage improvements.

As usual Triumph gets it wrong or right, but we just don't know which it is. I use 91 octain or higher (USA) 99.99% of the time. If it isn't available where I am on a trip, I get what they got. Then back to 91 next fill. My bike is rated for 89. I tried it for a few months. After a while the bike started running poorly. Back to 91 and it cleared up running well again. I have stayed on 91 since.

There's another post on this (s'ok, we don't care). And, yes, it IS confusing.
You're referring to the 2.5 models, btw. I've run both 89 and 93. I've "felt" the 89 actually ran better at times and have also thought the same with 93, so who TF really knows 🤷🏼‍♂️ ? I've not tried 87, but I remember hearing of someone, or someones, that do run that.

I typically run mid grade untill I tuned the bike now I run 93. For as little gas a bike takes there no urgency to use 87 IMO. I sent a e mail to triumph about it, we will see if they respond.

I have been running 89 octane fairly consistently . I will use 92 although in the summer heat my GT runs hotter. A considerably hotter seat for certain. Not so much with 89. I notice no other difference in the two. With 87 octane I was having to push the starter twice to get the GT going in the winter. Not with the 89 or 92. For me 89 octane seems to be The Goldilocks Effect for me. Personal choice I guess.

I have run 87 and had no issues and it runs good. I am at 3K feet above sea level so that helps. Now that I have a fuel caddy I run 91 because I have another bike that requires it so when I fill the caddy I just use 91, can't tell the difference though.
