Inside the Tach ...

Has anyone been inside the tach before? I'm going to open it up to put something over the low fuel light bulb in order to make it dimmer. Just thought I'd ask around if anyone had been in there before and had some advice.

Haven't had one apart. You might try a resistor before you pull out the duct tape.

I had planned to swich both round gauges for a single half moon motogadget gauge but being electrically challenged I hoped someone else would start opening these gauge to find out if it is an easy job

I did the same thing on my VTX, I used cotton off a Q-tip, worked great. Let us know how it goes.

Nope ain't done it yet,
I do know that the little chrome housings are right at $100.
That's what stopped me....

When I was up at Baxter Cycles a few months ago they had a wrecked Rocket in a barn that you could probably get the tach off of pretty cheap to practice surgery on.
