I let my Rocket go

I hear your frustration and I’ve had to shell out big $ on electronic replacements. The other half of the view is the new bikes have better suspension’s and some weight savings giving them a handling advantage. I own both and each has its pluses and minuses.

More tech does add potential for issues but has advantages when working fine.
I certainly understand what you’re saying, putting my A65 along side my R111 and it looks tiny. Manoeuvring it around and it feels like a toy! But try physically picking it up!!! 😳 What a lump!
The rear suspension on both the Rocket and the Beeza were just about stuffed, so YSS on the Rocket, Hagon on the Beeza. Not a lot I can do with the front of the BSA cheaply, so new oil and springs.

I read about a lot of these type of problems on the KTM forum where the problems generally come down to 1 of 3 different things, owners pressing the starter button before the ecu completes the start up cycle, battery voltage is incorrect, too much juice or too little will put bike into limp mode, or the exhaust valve being the cause. My 2022 1290 sdr evo was a pita, but I would ride it thru those limp modes and by the time I had 500 miles on the bike it was riding normally without throwing codes. Cell phones and modern traffic has really changed riding and it seems I'm getting pushed farther and farther west every summer to avoid all the distracted drivers, but I still don't know what i'd replace riding with if I quit trusting bikes.
