After having my Roadster for just over 24 hours, I had occasion to honk the horn on a ride yesterday and my 2300cc beast sounds like it got a horn from a Loonie Tunes vehicle.
I had to laugh that this big beast with huge motor, bigger pipes and 240 rear tire has a horn that turns it into a Vespa.
Anyhow, had a laugh, will be looking for a replacement immediately.
scott says when you have a fast bike you cannot hear the horn no matter how loud it is. put a brute megaphone pipe on it and make Gabriel's trumpet sound muzzled. plus you'll pick up some extra hp
Relay not required, but it came with one in the package and a friend wired it inline with the OEM and they both BLOW.
The combination of FREQ's is great. It is excellent around town when off the rear quarter of any cager.
VERY alerting.
In the garage at home it's frightening. My criteria was loud and easy to install.
No air compressor or tubing.
Removed the "chrome plastic" cover and installed without drilling or re-routing anything off of the mounting parts in the package.
Worked so far, (6 months). I have considered separating them and putting one on each side near the rear pegs, but it's great how it is.
2 ft of wire (or less) to run the switch to the new horns and it's in.
I'm not an electrical guy so I had an auto electric friend put it in and he said it's easy.
20 minutes and a couple of beers.
