Once again I have killed my bike through my efforts to upgrade it.

I have installed a set of preds and added the triple K&N filters. The bike has a PCIII on it and I added a O2 bypass after installing the preds (thanks Sam). I installed the preds first and started the bike to get a sense of the sound of the new pipes. The bike ran a little rough but started no problem. Next I removed the secondaries and installed the K&Ns and made all the mods that support them (thanks to Sam for helping me put all the right parts in place). Tried to start the bike and no joy. It turns over but will not crank. I get some nasty blow back and smoke through the K&Ns if I try to give it some gas while starting. I have loaded several of the tunes provided by Sam for this configuration. I have gone through all the various components to ensure they are properly connected, i.e. map sensor hose, throttle body hose, air temp sensor, tps wires not pinched, etc (Sam was kind enough to walk me through all the possible items to check). I cannot find anything out of sorts and am at a loss of what I have fouled up. Any suggestions or should I just suck it up and take it to the dealership to get it fixed?

I promise to never touch my bike again if I get this fixed, except maybe to install the GIPRO.

Man, I'd hate to be you right now.

Listen, Matt, if you had the stones to attempt all those changes at once, surely you will have the patience to listen to the better wrenches here and over on .com. They will give you the guidance to unscramble the temporary mess you're dealing with. Frankly, I would be more apt to place your faith in the advice from the guys on these sites than to let the stealer touch this problem, unless you know your dealer's shop to be top notch and honest!

Be patient and good luck! I'm certain your baby will be healthy again before you can imagine!;)

Man I do feel your pain. I was just there a couple of weeks ago.

If it were me and did not want to load the bike and take it to the dealer. I would start by un doing what I had just done and work my way back until I identified the problem. I am sure you have gone over everything you have just installed but somewhere their is a grimlin that you have caused. When I installed my PCIII, I knocked a vacume hose off and it was causing the bike to run like crap. I was thinking the same thing you were and asking myself, WTF did I mess up.
You are taking the right steps by backing up, rethinking what you have done and going back and checking everything over again. I'm sure you have checked all the connections and made sure that they were connected properly and that you heard the snap when you make the connections under the tank.
I'm sure their will be others along that will have some more things to check and if you don't get frustrated and take your time, just try a few things and if that doesn't work step back and rethink what its doing and don't give up.
It will come together and when it does it will be great. Just remember, Nothing ventured nothing gained. You will find it and when you do, you will be surprised how simple it turns out to be. Good luck

Big T

Are you using Tuneboy too? Or just PCIII?

Do you regularly open the throttle when starting it?

Did you move the primary butterflies when removing the secondaries?

No TuneBoy.

I do not typically have to open the throttle when starting.

I did not move the primary butterflies when removing the secondaries.

I feel your pain! That was my biggest fear when I installed the TORS, removed the Stock Air Intake, Installed the K & N Triples and the other two filters, removed the Oxygen Sensor, and installed my Tuneboy and a Tune I found on this site all at the same time.

Not being known as a wrencher, I was so sure I would f*ck something up, I read the instructions about fifty times and printed the pictures from pig9r's install. I believe it was either luck or the grace of god that it all worked when I was done. I would definately look to see if anything looks disconnected but not being an expert, I'm not sure I would even know if I looked.

I don't know anything about the PCIII, but I'm sure there is someone here who can help! Good Luck! :)

I have done a read out on my OBDII connector and it showed my TPS voltage being off for both the primary and secondary TPS. I adjusted both however the secondary TPS will not hold at a consistent voltage. Is it safe to assume that the secondary TPS needs to be replaced based on this behavior?

Setting the TPS to the correct voltage still does not allow the bike to start. Nothing else shows up as an error on the OBDII read out and I have gone over everything else as thorough as I know how.

Take a wee time out, when I first started playing around with tuneboy the same thing happened to me I went inside kissed the dog and kicked the wife came back to the bike did what I had done six or seven times before and wham up it started.
