Insurance will cover everything I have on the bike, they don't tell you about this usually but there is an option about $8.00 a month more to replace the bike with new for everything that is on the bike and the cost of new. My insurance guy who is a Long distance rider told me about it and it is no questions asked, you just send pictures of the bike with all add-ons and they adjust the premium accordingly.

This has helped me in the past greatly.
