How to make fueling smoother?

Come on, let's not start the 6th gear debate again... someone will come in and post about conserving fuel, stopping at every gas station and using lemon pledge... then you won't need a 6th gear

I would also love to have a 6th gear
That was just to funny

Make sure throttle has 2-3 mm free play in the cable, in other words when you twist it should turn 2-3 mm before pulling cable. Also have you lubed cables lately?
That is what I am thinking also. Free play and LUBE works wonders.

I personally like the throttle abruptness. Reminds me I'm on a performance motorcycle. My dad always said his gold wing felt like it had a rubber band for a throttle cable.

Hey Everyone! Thanks so much for all the responses. I have read through them all and I have to say that I Think Claviger and Cusso Ken have the right idea, they knew exactly what symptoms I am referring about. The only time I experience this "Clunk" issue is in 2nd gear at low speed, while going through a turn and giving a bit of throttle there is a momentary delay when the drive train just catches and you start moving. At least I know now its not the fueling that's the problem as it has great fueling at all other speeds, I'll just need to go through turns in 1st or 3rd to keep it seriously smooth.

Thanks to all for the tips though!!

Late to the discussion but by way of confirming:
When I had the update kit added to my 08 standard I immediately noticed the herky jerky on off throttle in 2nd gear.
The update kit included new 2nd gear ring with reduced number of dogs.
This fixed the pop out of 2nd under hard throttle.

Late 08 and onward have this fix.
