Updated with more analysis, assumptions on my part.

Are you sure your 6th -8th digits are not 'C01' not 'C10'

the 10th # being the model year so the bike is 2005 and more the likely it is a standard.

So its just a 'Standard'...paperwork from original sale calls it a 'Rocket 111 Special Edition'. I've never come across this name hence the questions. Thanks for all the info, at least ~I now know it's a standard model - makes it easier for ordering go faster bits!

Actually, you are close enough to Hinckley you should just ride up and ask what it is and what makes it so special. ;)

Well I tried their website and it didn't like the VIN number...bizarre! A short journey perhaps could be the solution. What makes it special? It just is cos its all mine!!!:D

Not in UK/Europe and Australia where the 11th digit is the model year code. USA/Canada use different standard VIN codes where 10th digit is model year code (the code is same for both though). USA/Canada also use a check digit code which the rest of the world does not.

That's brilliant - the bike in the picture I actually went to see but they wouldn't budge on price, didn't want to do a deal at any cost! All part of the 'we buy any bike' group. The info regarding the models helps to as I now the correct paint colour etc - Thank you once again Ishrub, the devil is in the detail and you found loads of little Devils!!
