Plans - BC cut, exhaust, flyscreen, gel seat, dyno - but all in good time!
Mods look good mate..i've got a Roadster Gel seat i want to sell if you're interested in a second handy. Nearly new ,only had it on the bike for few months. Going to get the Classic seat , dont reckon they look as sharp as the Roadster but gota keep the girl happy .. hey

Tomcat I got a gel seat on backorder dude I mebbie should have shouted sooner cos I would have taken I off u.

My new pipes are black not chrome so shouldn't need to worry about gettin them sorted. I'm not huge on chrome but I will keep some my bearclaw is goin to be same black as the bike.

Will it stand the test of time. I dunno because I have never done it before cost was about 250 aud will just have to see how it goes some people say it discolours and goes more Matt finish but that would be good too. I'll just have to see what happens.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

Will post some more pics in about 5-6 weeks when I done a bit more!

No worries , just thought i'd mention it. Back order seems to be order of the day with Triumph Australia ..useless pricks

Led to believe powder coat is more durable but have been told it would not handle the heat as well as ceramic on heat sheilds. Pretty sure powder coat wouldn't hold up on exhaust pipes but heat sheilds maybe a different story. I asked the bloke who does my powder coating and he couldn't say for sure powder coat would handle the heat on sheilds. Spoke with local HPC ceramic coater and he assures me if properly applied ceramic coating will stay looking good and 100% will handle the heat. Mate of mine had the HPC turbo coating on his headers 4 months ago and it still looks great.

powder coat vs ceramic

Not as familiar with ceramic coatings, but I just spoke to my powder coating source and he indicates standard coating will get soft at about 390-410 f. although it will get soft, it will reharden when cooled as per spec.s but he had no indication what that would do to longevity. High heat powder coat is avail. for tolerance up to 800f. Anyone have any indication as to the average operating temp of the manifold or heat shields. I have a hand held laser temp guage but it tops out at 230 f

I would like to know the exhaust temp. On most aircraft air cooled exhaust temp run 1,300 + - 200. I do know that the R3's exhausts will glow red sometimes. Guess you'll find out about the powder coating durability soon enough.

So I have her back again, will post some pics and a video of the pipes next week because i am missing a piece of heatshield away for ceramic coating. But the shorty exhausts are on as is the screen and gel seat (way comfy). She sounds a lot louder stood beside but about the same sat riding which was a bit odd. She backfires like a ***** on decel and is shooting flames - ooops. However going to do tune ecu in the next couple of days will be the texas guys trip K&N tors fully open secondaries etc and dyno next week . Once the ECU is done going to zero map the pcv til the dyno. Hopefully I will have cut the BC before dyno - probably a must really, but by the way even having read the posts numerous times i am still wary of the cut so if anyone has any really good tips - now's the time =D. Particularly on the reposition of the BC mount so it still secures to the tank in the same place because i think its going to be a radical cut - not sure on JB weld? never used it so advice is very welcome - not even sure which JB weld i should buy.
