Hi all I am after some suggestions.
I have had my rocket for about 4 months with no problems, until yesterday. It has started to cough and splutter, sometimes it feels as if it's running out of fuel and sometimes it's just like the throttle has been shut off and wound back on really quickly, scary when you are entering a roundabout. It's a 08 classic with 9000 miles, tors and k&n underseal filter.spark plugs all look good, I have checked for loose wires and cleaned the crankshaft sensor.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

I'm no expert but I'm sure they will chime in soon. From all I've read the TPS is the evil culprit for many ailments. Mine did some sputtering yesterday after I had just topped off on a really hot day and I remembered that the Evaporative system can cause these issues as well. Not sure if it's happening after you fuel up. Sorry I'm not more help but rest assured help will come.

Possibly the evaporative system. Plug the holes on the top of the intake where the evap hoses dump the fuel to see if it still does it. Thats the best I've got till one of the master minds shows up.

Is it backfiring as well ? If so just replace all 3 vacuum hoses that run from the Throttle bodies to the sensor ( cut all 3 the same length ) and the main one that runs from the sensor , silicone tube can be purchased from good auto stores.

I had surging without backfiring one day well after i replaced vacuum hoses, i'd washed the bike the day before and gotten water into the airtemp sensor , had exact same issues.

Yeah just do that. That way you can fix the problem at the same time you are testing it.
