Was telling Nolton that I went to the store and back, looked at the Metz and saw cord ... AGAIN !!!
17,000 miles and three Metzlers later ... I've taken the plunge. I'd returned the Eagle I bought before due to possible clearance problems and today I ordered a BFG G-Force 225/55ZR16 for $150 including shipping from the Tire Rack. It will be here early in the week so I need to start removing the rear wheel assy in preparation for taking it in loose so that no one damages the bike again.

I decided to go dark even though I'm trying to sell it just in case I keep it. There is no way in hell I would ever put a forth Metzler on the bike anyway. If it sells and the buyer doesn't like it, they can put whatever they want on it, I'm going over to the DarkSide !!!

Hellfire, concrats on the darkside....I like the tread design of Nolton's tire...I'd be interested in info on the tire between you and Nolton after you get some miles on it ; like how the tread wears and if that particular tire may or may not tend to scallop as it wears, as that tread design is much different than most darksiders..Oh yeah, hope you don't have to sell the bike!!

Nobody gave me grief over referring to myself in the third person ... LOL
I expected some crap over that one right away. haha

The tread pattern is kind of blocky compared to some others, but it also looks more rounded than others too.

Din't notice
Just remember to not think of it as a car tyre keep the presure low (around 28psi ) to start with.....confident you will like it;):)

:eek:OI are you saying I am not objective eh:p:rolleyes:

No less objective than everyone else on this site who's gone darkside. :p You're all pretty ;), if you get my drift. I don't want to be talked into it; just want to understand and feel confident it's a sensible and safe alternative that doesn't compromise rideability.

Well I've been reading and defending the choice ever since I started visiting this site. Been paying close attention to what makes a good darkside tire and what to avoid. Considered size choices for handling vs looking Phat and what tires have a squared off profile and which tend to be more rounded out of the box. I like the Raptor for it's wet tread pattern but thought I'd try out the G-Force due to it's rounder shape. I wish I could try a couple side by side but I had to take the plunge and start somewhere. Nolton's choice and feelings about it caught my attention, he doesn't seem the type to force the bike to corner if it doesn't want to just to say he likes the way it handles ... (that sounded funny to me too )
You know what I mean .... Like some would overlook poor performance because it looks better kind of thing. An example would be putting up with difficult to manage for the cool looks of a GoodYear Eagle 1 240/50.
So I'll give this one a whirl and next time try out a Raptor. Expect to get an ear full of my feelings after it's installed from start to finish ... the good and bad. I've ridden a V-Max with a worn out tire that was as flat as a car tire but never a true darkside equipped bike, this will be a first for me. I'll let you know.

More than anything ... I'm looking forward to catching a rash of Sh*t from people who notice that "THERE'S A **** CAR TIRE ON THAT BIKE!!!" :p
