Header stickout comparo? Carpenter versus Reband

Hey guys. I moved my foot controls forward 8" and found that the Carpenter #1 pipe was too close and too hot for my leg. Good pipe however. I'm curious if anyone has experience with the Reband pipe and how far the pipes come away from the engine? Or a direct comparison from the #1 cylinder with the Carpenter versus the Reband?

I have had both.... virtually no difference. But the second and third pipes stick out further.... so you'll have to play with heat shields, or moving your leg!

They are all tucked in as much as they can, while still keeping a decent curve out of the head.

That would be a disruptive waste of exhaust flow and then you will still need custom heat shields. Might as well spend money on heat shields for the good pipe you have!!!

Just to give you a idea these shield are just laid on the Carpenter pipe I had on Gracie when I broke my back in Canada. Its amazing what some of our OZZY brothers can produce. I got two sets one for this pipe and one for the new Carpenter pipe.



The rela problem I see here is one set of heat shoelds ar emade for one style of bikes IE; Roadster verses the sittinf style of a standard peg and floor board plus you long leged fellers adds a new equation to the mix.

The more one reaches for power and his own riding style the more one has to adapt.

this is not ment to cut down any exhaust just point out the differences you might run into. if your not looking for max power you might want to consider a Jardine or a used predator all are good it just depends on what bike you have. Myself I have a use set of Jardines for the older non roadster bikes and a set of Predators just laying around. I got rid of the tors but still have th ecat delete and a complete set of OEM triples.

Get a set of headers made that stay tucked in a little more are ceramic coated inside & out have good heat shields
or both like my 2" jobies
