It sounds like a magnet.

I use a strong rare earth magnet on my bike oil filters and don't have issues triggering magnetic strips at lights. It also traps a good bit of metallic particles in the filter.


Side note: I had a friend that had a bright blue LED light he used to trigger stoplights (just like emergency vehicles). He got busted for it and forced to pay a big fine.

Personally, I catagorize that along with the magnetic in-line fuel whatchmacallit that's supposed to increase fuel mileage........junk.

No question about it. It's the only gripe I have with the Rocket. As big as this Beast FBG is it won't trigger signals. I fight with 10 per work day. Only one will trigger, occasionally, if the BAB is rolled directly overhead the trigger lined in the pavement.

I've given repeated thoughts of getting something. This may very well be the solution.

A rare earth magnetic system/device I believe is the "supposed" best.

Go get a big Alinco magnet, the flat kind, and mount it to the underside of the sump. That way, you can drive down the road and collect metallic, ferrous debris as you ride. When you get home, clean the magnet off and deposit the ferrouis debris in a garbage can...to be taken to the scrap yard............Steel is over $525.00 per ton.

In the old days, I would reach back and drop the center stand (remember those?) to trigger lights. I wonder if the Rivco stand has enough mass to trigger the lights.

In NC, you can see where they've embedded the 'sensors' into the road...

I pull on top of the sensor and I haven't had a problem 'tripping' the light.... so far.

I've had a "Green light trigger" mounted on my '95 Trophy 4 for about five or so years and it has never failed to trip a left turn arrow signal or a standard stop light. Being mounted in the lowest part of the fairing just under the engine case gets it about four or five inches off the ground. You just have to be sure and eyeball where the wire in the pavement begans and be sure to keep the trigger right above it as you slow to a stop at a red light. Bigern
