Glad you got it sorted Mitch and it wasn't something major or really expensive.
 
and it broke in the exact same place as they all seem to,.... you would think they would have sorted it by now, the radius of that bend is too tight which leaves excessive internal stress in the metal, leading to fatigue and eventual failure

Yes I'm sure Les doesn't want a rusty screwdriver in the neck.

Everyone that had theirs break should mail it to Triumph certified mail and get a signature of delivery then see what they do... When they have a bunch of failed parts maybe they'll get the point...
 
I had a similar problem it may be the detent spring a $3 piece and about 4 hours to replace it.

Hey oldwarrior, yes it has been identified as the detent spring.
