Why are you going to a 225?

To get away from the rubbing and to see if the steering effort will be a little less. Not that it bothers me now, but if I ride another bike then jump back on mine, I realize it does take a little more effort to initiate the turn. Once it is leaned over, it feels like it is on a rail.
I have about an 1/8th mile gravel driveway. Takes some getting used to with the dark rear, but the biggest thing is to keep a little speed up. The slower you go on gravel, the more steering input is required.
After a while it becomes second nature and you will hardly notice it.

Makes a lot of sense...thanks!

Too many choices!

Hey guys.. I am in the same boat as Bluestreak.. Bought my Rocket last year, and took care of what was left of the Metz, I am on borrowed time now. I am new to the darkside thought, and was looking for the same advice as Streak is... From what I have read, it looks like the Riken Raptor is a good tire to go with.... but what is the best size? I dont want to sacrifice the look of the fat tire in the rear, but I also want a tire that handles well in the twisties. I live near the Adirondaks in NY, and frequently take trips up there just to hit the winding roads... and I don't want to regret getting a tire that doesnt handle well. Any info you guys have would be appreciated.... Any tips on a front as well?

PolarisJay,
I just got the Raptor yesterday.
I got a 225x55x16 vr as the 55 corrects your speedo as best you can without a tuneboy.
So they say anyway.
ride safe,
skip
