First Real Ride with my Carpenter Head and Cam

I stuck with stock pistons and decked head somewhere between 9.5-10.5:1, not totally sure as I didn't measure chamber volume on the head like I should have :/

Today is the day I get Nels to shake some of his magic fairy dust into my ECU. I'll post before and after numbers tonight, hoping for 210-220 before and 230-240 after.

To my knowledge this will be the first posted Dyno of a 265 kit + CES. To account for the compression reduction I should end up 3-4% off if I had gotten them. Finally we can settle the CES vs Carp exhaust top end power debate I've seen a couple of times ( I subscribe to slightly more torque below 5k and slightly less above with a peak 500 RPM below Steels setup).

So the weather finally broke a bit today!!

Decided 45f was warm enough to go play on the R3.

First test: is my tune close... shockingly it is! I guess I got lucky with my estimates and the Autotune was flawless at cleaning up a couple of lean spots.

After about 30 minutes the tune was fairly close to dialed in.

HOLY HELL does it pull up top! 5th gear roll ons are a whole different ball game now! Roll on at 60 and it feels like it always did, but as you speed up, you start gaining speed more and more quickly instead of hitting the air drag wall. By 120 it's just starting to really hit stride and wants to GOGOGO!

90-120 takes less time than 60-90, a totally strange feeling on the big girl!

3rd gear is pretty **** epic now!

Something I didn't expect.... the engine is smoother than ever, less vibration and a throatier sound at speed.

It's going to awhile to get the cojones to go full throttle in 2nd or 1st, there is just soooooo much more power now. It was fun and fast before, it's just maniacal now lol, so happy with the bike now after all the drama I went through on my build.

Nice work .that will get some air under them a.

Pretty certain I'll be joining the TTS crowd next year.
WELL the true test is take the bike to Drag strip and see if you can make a full1/4 mile pass without letting off the throttle most guys cant handle a 240+HP ROCKET so more power is wasted If you cant handle the TRUTH dont add more till you can manage what you have LOL WE get lots of Japanese bikes to modify and the owners cannot ride the stock bike as they are hard to ride correctly. SO look at the video of an 8.9 pass on CARPENTER RACING .COM and its a hell of ride on a street bike thats that fast. I street tested all the modded bikes for thousands of miles and they are a real blast and very very fast as an everday comfy street ride thats capable of taking on ANYTHING you run into on the street

I can run my 265 full throttle for a 1/4 mile. Haven't been to a track, but using the Ulysse Speedometer app, I've gotten a couple of 9.5s. I think I need an air shifter.
AND I know YOU were doin WHEELIES LOL
