Factory Dual Tour Seat

Hey CR3, what is the part number for the large backrest your talking about?

I think it's A9708177. Cost me about $40 ($38 rings a bell) as I recall. Had a bit of look and they seem to be a lot dearer now - $91 now from NCY!!!!! - but you might find one cheaper somewhere.

I got my seat from Moto Arena for $160. Triumph must have discounted them. Got a quote from TeamMoto on the whole Classic floorboards, rails, brake lever, heel and toe gearchange ... $650. Thought they were a lot dearer than that .

Quote was for a Classic , the only model that came with floorboards standard. Require some modification fitting onto a Roadster with ABS , do-able i reckon.

Yeah they have 2 left. Ring Ryan in triumph spare parts at Peter Stevens melbourne. Checked my receipt and was $150 +GST.

So far it is a very comfy seat and being so cushy actuals smoothes out the ride even more. Haven't had the chance to put many k's on it as only had a few 30 min rides and so far it is nice. If it does the same as the gel seat i'll be posting hear for sale.

Am thinking of getting the 2 piece Roadster gel seat remade into something comfortable as I really like the look of it but just can't ride longer than 30mins to 1 hour max.

Great OK.. My bike is a Std hope it will fit..Ill search for the number
Cheers

The comfort dual with backrest serial xxxxxxx186 will not fit my '05. Slight misalignment with the locking hole to the rear. May be able to modify by elongating the mounting holes where the bracket bolts to the fender... Seat was manufactured in 07, so I suspect the '07 and up Standard, Classic, Roadster will be a good fit.
I'm interested to know what this extreme good deal serial numbers are?

The rear locking catch thingo didn't line up on my 2007 plated bike either. I ditched the rear lock.. done thousands of kilometers without the rear lock both solo and two-up , no problems at all.

Touring seat

Touring seat arrived just fitted it ..Great
A bit of black sheep skin on it to help with the Solar heat and she'll be right.

As mentioned in previous Posts.
Slight problem with the rear Latch Bracket when the 3 bolts are tight it wont line up with the latch pin hole.. but I will make up rubber gasket to go behind the mount bolt plate to space it forward a few mill that should fix it nicely..:D

Now waiting for the good priced Back Rests to arrive from NCY US.

ED
Backrests arrived and fitted .. feels like an armchair :D
Made a 3mil rubber gasket and fitted it between the mount plate of the rear seat latch brachet. Now the seat locks down on both latch pins nicely..Perfect.
Thanks ponters for the help..

she's cool bro...

got back from a 900k on the new seat. alignment not an issue.... mounted without back plate and then decided to mount plate and both times went on fine. Takes a bit to clip in but nothing extraordinary so perhaps spacer you made will make it fall into place.

Back rest...much better than Corbin...love the adjustments and.... well now that there is something holding you inlace it makes it much more tempting to crack on the throttle and rip around a little differently to how the merry officer would like.

comfort...i understand that all seats need to wear in and get better...i can say, great shape, easy reach to all controls and ground. I do find it reduces leg reach to pegs and controls as I feel like I'm sitting a little further forward, especially compared to Corbin solo that i have. aside from that, very comfy, really works like extra suspension too...amasing to feel how smooth my girl is now..wilbers suspension and this seat make it insane..

the only real down side for me is...it still gets a bit hot and after 1.5-2hours of constant riding you do have to move around a little to avoid going numb / sore. Have to say the corbin still excels and If i were going to do over 500-600k in a day Id stick with the corbin. Once again the Corbin down side is that it is so firm that it feels like a park bench when you first get on and you do feel the road much more, however ergonomically and support wise you can ride a million miles and still be smiling...so to speak.

I still love the look of the triumph solo gel best of all so sending it to Aussie Comfy Seats to have it sorted. Will let you know how we go.
