Hey Dennsell, one issue I had with my seat was that with saddle bags on it was bloody awkward reaching the rear latch ring. I simply added a cable tie to mine - made a small loop about the size of the fitted one and attached tight with another cable tie. Dead easy to get at now and it sits pretty much out of sight.

Thats not a bad idea I can get the ring but it is a little awkward might add that Otherwise no probs drops straight on nicely with the spacer mod, I figured the rear bracket config was worth half the seat cost so I fiited it

Looks and feels good with the new back rest and the big oval one for Saori..

Old thread I know, but it can be useful for those investigating the option of factory Triumph rider backrests and 'Dual seat, Longhaul Touring' for Std, Classic and Roadster models. NOTE: This is not the later R3Touring model version.

The Dual seat, Longhaul Touring' is available with or without the square post hole for the out of production and out of stock rider backrest that was always sold separately (A9708158).
As stated by CanberraR3 earlier:
"There are 2 numbers under the dual seat without backrest - A9701163 and A9701164. And on the one with backrest it's A9700186."

Another part number for the whole backrest version kit that includes the seat, rear mounting bracket and plug, but without the rider's backrest itself is A9708164.

The rear mounting bracket that is not essential is T2301985 /T2301985 , it usually comes with the seat kits but is separate to the seat itself. The images below look different for the same part number T2301985, but the 2nd image's part #20 looks like mine on the A9708164 seat kit.

The plastic plug to fill the square post hole in the backrest seat version is listed obscurely at Cal Moto Triumph but is not illustrated in the kit picture and most places do not list it as a separate part at all.
