Top idea Steve. Looks good, robust, easy to clean, what's not to like?

Wouldnt be any danger of the clamps slipping on the forks due to the shrink between them ,would there?I wouldnt think so....

Just thought about the fact you may be able to get heat shrink in different colours too.... :?:

No danger cos the tubes are in four pieces, not under the clamps, it wouldnt go under the clamps anyway its quite thick, over 1mm when its shrunk, it gets thicker the more you shrink it.

Did you order it from the ebay link I provided? cos I have tried some thinner stuff since and it didnt work, it would not shrink down smooth, the heavy duty tube in the link is good in 65mm and has a good finish when buffed up. I have custom screen mountings that dont use the chrome brackets but if you have the brackets I guess they will go over the tube maybe without the rubber inserts fitted.

Yeh I ordered from the link you provided. I currently have a Triumph windshield but i'm gonna take it off. Might re-fit the screen if I do a long distance tour with the wife this summer but i'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Did you do anything to the bottom of the forks? Your photograph only shows the top sliders.

Not done the fork bottoms yet but I will be painting them when I get round to it.
