Easier seat bolts?

@Mad Dog, how long were the nylon bushings you used? Am waiting for the quick release pins from West Marine to arrive. They were not available in any of the local stores.

I’m guessing that he used enough of them to put some tension on the locking mechanism?

Yes, long enough to compress the rubber grommet a bit. I bought them a little long, maybe 1”, and cut them to make a snug fit.

Personally, I thought they were fairly expensive for what they are, but a great idea. I did a little looking and came up with these, way cheaper and enough for 2 bikes or some spares, if lost. I think they'll be a lot easier to pull, also. I don't think they'll come out on their own, keep you posted.

@Tripps , I found a set of those pins at Home Depot in the speciality fasteners bin. Bought them and found them to not really work. They were rather loose and allowed for too much flex in my opinion and I was afraid they would pull out too easily. So not quite for me. Wondering how they worked for you.

Also, they are zinc plated vs the stainless that West Marine sells. Another consideration for those worried about rusting.

The ones I ordered are stainless, but not here yet, we'll see how they work, same diameters as west marine ones.

Buy a few extras, mine stayed in around a year or so, but within the second year I lost one side and one rear. Luckily I bought double of both. They fit quite loosely, but there's really no choice of sizes
