Dreadful footrests position on Roadster

My understanding and from what I've read on here its quite expensive to do the conversion (please correct me if I'm wrong). i would love to have boards...I hate pegs and especially the position of them on my Roadster. At least if they were more forward or you could buy forward controls I could live with that. As it stands right now if I ride any distance I take my Fatboy only because it is way more comfortable. Gotta find a reasonable solution as I would love to take my Rocket for a long ride.

I have a terrible right hip in need of replacement, but I did ride across country from Tacoma a couple times using the right engine guard peg.
I got pretty good at trail braking with my right heel. I used primarily the front brake for stops, but needed the rear for things more serious.
I DO NOT recommend this over a properly positioned right foot and am enjoying my board immensely!.

My boards set up cost me $700 from @cadconversions, who put it all together first, making my job WAY easier.

I cant stand the footrest position on my 13 roadster, the bike is great but my hips f---ing kill me. Im used to cruisers not sports bikes and I have been riding since I was 8 and im now 55, without a rest, so im bloody tired. So I have purchased a set of Raask movable footrests. The idea seems great, I can set them in the most comfortable position for me. I intend to fit them this weekend. has anyone fitted these already and if so are there an issues or things I need to know. The good thing about this system is I can replace all the original parts if I need to.Thanks.

You might want to contact this guy ,there is a question box at the bottom of the page. I agree with you i don't know what Triumph was thinking moving them that far back.

I bought my '12 Roadster because of the foot peg positioning; I can't stand the hardley gynocological stirrup forward foot position.

It just so happens that the Kuryakin foot pegs that my dealer put on (after the little old lady broke my right foot peg off with her car at the gas station) have a section that swings out/around/back to the rear, and actually makes a flat surface that you can rest your foot on.

I'll try to take pics tomorrow and post them here.

Did they sell you just the parts or was it a ride in type of thing? I'm good for $700 otherwise I am thinking about those forward controls for $339 if they don't block the engine guard. I'm thinking they will.

Twas all the necessary parts. I installed with little difficulty and later put on a shifter more to my liking - do NOT like heel shifters.
Other than the Standard rails and board parts a simple little bracket needs to be made to accommodate your ABS.
Shop around - they are out there . . . even wrecked bikes . . . or do a swap with someone wanting your pegs.

Thanks for the good info!

If you find someone who has floorboards and wants roadster pegs, you can switch everything from one to the other and the cost is zero...

I considered a new R3R last year and priced out all the older standard rails, pegs, and other parts. My dealer consulted with Triumph about this deal and backed out. I think Triumph didn't want to honor the warranty after relocating the ABS. If I remember correctly, I contacted Raask about their movable peg kit and they said it was for the standard, not the R3R. Did you confirm this with Raask? You might try to find the old rail assembly and rig the ABS yourself.

This is what I got back from Raask:

"Hi Doug,I have not mount them onto Roadster and
Touring models but I have sold the Moving Pegs Unit
to owner of those bikes. What I have been told they have
to make a spacer but I can´t tell if it´s true but nobody
have complained to me.
Price for a set are 300 US Dollars.
Freight by post/air are 80 USD.
Shipping time to US are a week to 10 days"

But I just saw this this thread under General Tech Talk:
