Well I put the bike up in the air for a check over before I head away on a trip soon, I noticed a oil weep from one of the washers on the top of the cam cover.... no big deal as I have had it off in the past so I knew what I was in for :(
What tested the patience was the front tank bolt I dropped... I heard it rattle down but didn't hit the floor....I couldn't find it anywhere, I gave up looking after an hour and went and had a beer.
Went out the next morning and went all over it again, finally took the top and side covers off the radiator, tilted the radiator forward and it was looking at me from down inside the bottom of fan housing.
I've got all sorts of magnets on sticks but that didn't help as the bolt is stainless steel.

Back to the original job, looks like I cannot reuse the cam cover washers to many times

The bolt was down in behind the fan blade in the middle

Every time I work on something I set a tool down or lose something like that and cant find it. I just wonder sometimes how much time we spend in our life looking for something that we lose or hide from ourselves. Al
