Thanks heaps everyone for your input seems the clutch switch was the culprit, couldn’t work out how to pull the thing apart without destroying it so I removed the lever sprayed half a can of contact cleaner in and wriggled it about a bit and f—k me dead I’m as happy as a fox in a chook house. She’s all back together and touchwood every time I hit the starter away it goes time for some boot scooting thanks again everyone without the help of this forum I would have been up s—t creek and probably a lot poorer

A healthy fully charged battery will be at 12.8 volts with no load.
A healthy charging system and battery with rpm at around 2000 will be at 14.4 volts
If the bike was fine before you started the changes, go through every connection you touched and recheck them. Make sure the battery terminals and clamps are shiny bright (use a scourer to clean them up) and use some dielectric grease when reconnecting.

You're going to Thailand AND taking the Missus???
Spent our honeymoon (albeit late) there. Later I arranged a Tsunami <evil super villain laugh> to erase all record. btw if you get to Patpong - It has changed - Karaoke and golf shops.
Go and see Mr Narry - One's tailor ;) - You get a free curry from Mrs Narry - a TV cooking star (apparently).

Oh and Hot in Thailand means Triple Phal and then some. Hot is what you start at. Keep some bog rolls in the mini-bar. Learn to do hand stands in the shower. And for the Gin Smeller - "Kata Rocks".

Spent 5 days and $1000 in Thailand, back in 1968. R&R from Nam. I did have a VERY good time!;););););)
1000 bucks for 5 days - mate you was robbed.
