Create/share List of Tuners by Region?

I would like to get a custom tune for my bike sometime in the near future, but it sounds like a good tuner is hard to find. Does anyone know of a talented tuner in the western NC area?

Additional questions:

Would a compiled list of tuners by region be of use to other members?

If I'm using TuneEcu is it important that the tuner does so as well? @Jvheli, for example, mentioned finding a tuner in Wisconsin that actually used TuneEcu. Should I look for the same?

If a tune is done without using TuneEcu wouldn't TuneEcu be able to read those settings and save the tune?

Or, is it that you need additional hardware like a PowerCommander installed on your bike in order for some tuners to do their "thang?"

A list of tuners and the experience the customer had with them would be helpful.
If you find a good tuner you can work with them on the hardware they use and are comfortable with.
If they use power commander you can download the tune modifications and then use them to modify the tune with TuneEcu then if you want remove the power commander.
Probably easier to find someone using power commander than TuneEcu.

This has been suggested before, and is still a great idea.

The resources are so limited -- surprisingly so.

If we do this, I'll make it a sticky so it'll be on top, and ideally, will be updated (for example - great tuner five years ago, got out of the business and we would like to save folks the futility).

Likewise, we might want to use a system where in the case I had a while back -- I had heard through the rumor mill there is a tuner in Richmond, VA, and I posted that, and someone with direct experience suggested that tuner would not be good for a Rocket. In other words, it might be good to post what could be - and folks with opportunity and inclination could work down the list.

Of course, at top of the list would be known good tuners, and as you say, how they work.

@Journeyman28778 I scoured the east coast when I started in on my header and ramair project a few years back. The original idea was to get out of warranty and take it to Wayne Tripp who was one of the best in the world. Should have just said to heck with the warranty and did it right away because Wayne retired before I made the move.

I found 1 place anywhere near us that would even attempt to use tuneecu and that was Star Racing in Americus GA. Figured they built, sponsored and tuned a NHRA world championship Pro stock drag bike, they probably had the skills to do it.

Due to time and vacation restraints I hung a PCV on it and had a local guy make a map for me. Didn't want to take the risk that it was lean enough to burn a piston.

I am OK with the results, 143.8 hp and 148.6 ftlbs. but TBH it still tweaks my OCD to realize there is probably 8 to 10 more in both numbers left on the table.

One day when time allows I am still planning on taking it to GA. and letting them take a shot at it .

Don't know if it helps anything but pretty much went to the end of the internet and called dozens of people and that's all I found.

I did it the old fashioned way. Call/stop in and ask. I started by looking for tuners of different brands (KTM, Ducati, Aprilia) but same brand ECU.

That is very helpful information and saves me tons of time not repeating your work- thank you!
Americus is nearly six hours from me, but I've been known to hit the road for less good reasons. I'll check with those guys and think about a possible trip down in the coming months.

Good idea...I’m in Florida in the heart of Harley country...I went to a very respected and recommended Guy near Crystal River...walked in and asked for a dyno on the Rocket...you’d thought I’d farted!
Seriously..I can’t find one so great call...
