Coolant Leak Part 2

The local triumph specialist says he hasn't come across this problem before but is pretty sure he can fix it. The problem is he can't look at it until the 10th. I would take it down to Neville Lush but it would run out of coolant before I got there! I guess I will wait 9 more days. Great weather until the weekend too. ****!

I was getting nowhere until I spoke to a riding buddy who is a Volvo mechanic. He gave me some suggestions (including lending me a tool). I think this tool would have worked, but his second suggestion seems to have solved the problem.
The first suggestion involved prying off the old part with the tool. It looks like a screwdriver handle with a bent shaft with this on the end. The idea was to very gently tap it with a hammer and pry off the part. I think this would have worked, but I didn't need to try it.

His second suggestion was to use K-Seal. This is added to the radiator like any radiator sealing fluid. I did that and started the bike. It seemed to be leaking a bit more than previously. I idled the bike until the fan came on. About one minute later the leak stopped. I let it cool down and repeated the warm up. Still no leak. Mick said that K-Seal is much better than other radiator sealants he has tried. I have no idea if it is or not. I will test it for a few days including a decent ride. Hopefully the problem is solved.
