Coolant change has resulted in nothing but trouble

Hello from Bristol. This is my first post and I am sure I am not going to be the first or last to ask similar...! My 2007 R3 Classic with 12600 miles had been running beautifully and giving much pleasure. That is until I decided to do some routine maintenance. All went well. That is until I changed the coolant. Since doing so I have been dogged by the Triumph high idle problem which seems to be getting worse each time I ride. This occurs only when the engine is hot. Now, as this occurred after a change of coolant, I believe the problem must be related. I have double checked the method used with the workshop manual and been extra careful about possible air locks etc. I have tried numerous 12 minute tunes and even played with the coolant mix from 50/50 (Pg and eg mixes) all the way down to plain deionised water. The problem will not go away. Before I decide to break the bike down for spares and never buy another Triumph as long as I live, can anyone shed any light on what the problem may be or recommend a non dealer specialist in my area who may be able to help? Any help would be very much appreciated by an R3 owner at the end of his tether...

You can do a search too, upper right of the screen. I don't believe the coolant change has anything to do with the high idle. I think by the luck of the draw you are experiencing your primary TPS throttle position sender is going bad. Does the low idle return after you shut her off and start her back up? And then after a while she is idling back up between 2000 and 2500?

Let me introduce myself a little.
My name is Simon and I am from Bristol in the UK. I've had my 2007 R3 Classic for about 4 years and up until now have loved her to bits. A low miles in Pacific blue and white, dry miles only beauty, I would really like to rekindle the affair.

It's generally the throttle position sensor, easy to change, but often only needs an adjustment with TuneECU. I bought a new TPS 4 or 5 years ago, but I adjusted mine while I was waiting for the new one, still running the old one.

Yes exactly that, only now it's 3000+ and rough as you like...

Thanks for all the info. I have tuneecu and the cable, I have heard this before, but because the problem occurred straight after the coolant change, I have convinced myself it is related and dismissed the tps's perhaps incorrectly. In tuneecu it all looks good, but of course, it's idling correctly when connected!! I will read further about setting these things up correctly.

Sorry to hear about your problem my 2005 bike still has the original TPS and still runs great, now going by your twisted way of thinking do not check your tyre pressure as that might blow your light bulbs.

Trips has the newer tps in his bike from new your being a 07 might not especially if it has never been changed. Some people have the original but I have seen some of these people put a skirt on. Not saying anything as transgender now matter how pucked up it is might become the norm

Like putting a car tire on a motorcycle is kind of like putting on a skirt to mud wrestle a hog!!!!
