Anyone ever try Royal Purple Ice in their radiator? I use it in my trucks and have noticed a drop in temps. and some help to lub the water pump may be a good thing. How do I remove a few ounces of coolant from my res to add some? I haven't messed with this department on my Rock yet.

Pop the cap and suck some out with a syringe or a turkey baster.

I thought about that, I got one of those shringes that I used to stick up peoples butts at the Ayurvedic clinic years ago, TMI?

my bike is cool and the coolant levels are below the min mark, I cant even see anything in there, do i have to warm up the engine and recheck?

Coolant level cold, with the bike level, should be at the MIN mark. Anything over that will probably puke out when hot.

I've run stock coolant, straight water mixed with Red Line Water Wetter, and currently Engine Ice. Based on observed temps via the Scangauge, nothing really has any significant effect on operating temperature. The thermostat opens around 190.

On my bike, it runs at around 191-195 at steady cruising speeds in ambient temperatures under 85. As the ambient temperature rises so does the coolant temperature. At 115+ I've seen coolant temperatures up to 210 cruising at 65 MPH.

red,
If you don't have a turkey baster, you can loosen the overflow tube to your reserve and crank er up, at temp some will come out and onto the ground on into a container.
