I've toyed with the idea of replacing the thermostat. Are they the same as a typical auto thermostat or are they something special? Also, would you recommend going as low as 160? Possibly swapping back and forth, winter to summer (I'm in Phoenix).
I'm really hoping that Sam's new radiator proves to be more efficient than the stock one. I do however think that having the fan so close to the engine block really limits its effectiveness. Once the fan kicks in it really struggles to bring the temps down, especially in 100+ ambient.
