I bought a set of Classic bars on the site here, I never liked the extreme angle my hands intersected the bars at, and put them on my Touring. Going down the road, I'm in heaven, my arms are fully extended, and much more straight to the bars.
The thing is, about 15 miles into the maiden voyage, I had to make a right turn onto a sharply intersecting road, kind of a reverse fork, I took it slow, but at almost full lock, I ran out of reach and the bike more or less pulled the bar out of my left hand.
Glad I was making a right instead of a left. I moved my backrest forward a notch, and did some tight parking lot maneuvers, and it seemed pretty OK, I think maybe it just took me by surprise the first time, after 22,000 mile with the original bars.
I'm going to get some more miles on it before I decide what to do. The bars are rolled pretty far back, but I still have tank clearance, so I may roll them back just a bit more. Rivco makes a riser that is 1" up and 2" back, that may be an answer, but $182 is pretty steep for that little bit of chromed aluminum, and I'm guessing that I will have to remove the bars to raise the tank, not that I really raise the tank that often.
