Carpenter Racing Exhaust

Wow!

Carpenter's exhaust is Stainless Steel which always turns gold-brown with heat. The original gleam can be brought back easily with a metal polish but they will brown up again. Take it or leave it.

Take it or leave it??? ****, I was just asking a simple question. I love the look of the carpenter exhaust. I was just wondering if they started selling the heat shields to go with the system. Did I say something offensive?

No Buzz you did not say anything offensive some of the intelegent people on this site just cannot answer basic questions. They still do not make heat shield for the pipe dispite Art campaining for us. Stainless actually turns straw color then contiues to turn and willl turn the same purple as the ones you are referring to. They are chrome plated in the picture you seen. But I have a set that are just polished stainless and if you do not keep rubbing your pipe:) It will turn purple. ANyway I do want to say the pipe is worth the money and IMO it is the best for max power out there. (Tomcat lets don't start the reband stuff again because I aint kicking them and do not have a set to compare its just my opinion which does not count for ****ski :) )

Buzz you can also send them out to get ceramic coated if youu want a different color like black.

Hers apicture of mine so you can see even the polished stainless turns blue. The chrome turns even more.

Warp,

Thats the answer I was looking for. I love the look of the exhaust and the sound and performance is what I'm looking for. I guess it's time for me to place that order.

No offense intended but was just saying that stainless steel browns up with exhaust heat. This is not a particular barb about the Brutes but ALL SS headers and pipes.

The discoloration is not much of an issue the further back you get from the business end (the header) of the chromed Brute exhaust system. The chromed stainless variant will still present the glittery bling on its aft end while also presenting the performance-foreboding discoloration on the fore end, with the optional heat shields somewhat splitting the difference.

I believe its a matter of construction rather than material. Most Japanese bikes use double walled headers, most European bikes use single walled. Double walled headers will not discolor, but they are heavier.

Ceramic coating is always an option, although some of those will lose their luster over time. I believe my Jardines came with a ceramic coating.
