Can not believe the new 2008 Turing Rocket

I totally agree with your statement. Triumph had an opportunity to build the best touring bike ever and blew it. They don't seem to know that a true touring bike needs electronics, fairing, tour pak, and passenger comforts. In my opinion they already had the best handling and performing bike (of its size). Why change a good thing? I'm sooooo disappointed. I only hope they know its not too late to correct their mistakes. But I don't see them doing so. They need to take a look at the new 2009 Kawasaki Voyager and mount their very neat in-line 3 torque master. Now that would make a nice touring bike.

now for me the tour pack and fairing would not have sold the bike for me I did not want a gold wing or for the fact of the matter anything that looked liked a gold wing. Yeah they could have done more like cruise control and reverse , reverse for me would be more useful as for power allot can be added back and not an issue . I reused my old gps and I will build a radio to add. No matter anyones opinion I love the r3t the way it is and thats why I purchased one if I did not I would not have spent the money no one forced me to purchase this or any bike I own if one bike fit every one there would just be one bike not a selection that runs the gambit with so large of a selection. now as a matter of my opinion the dual head light on the r3 with that I guess horn cover is what instantly turned me off of the r3 and the looks of the r3t sold me on it
 
Triumph has never been a "me too" company.. I owned a GL1800 and love the R3t.. Triumph couldn't build a Goldwing if they wanted to but they've done a great job here with the "T".. It's got all the appeal of a big classic HD bagger, but it performs and is higher quality!! HD riders always gather around this one..

Detuned?? Has great power off the showroom floor IMHO.. I'm in process of tuning now and can tell you that having instant throttle response and big HP is tricky with the skinny rear tire!!!
 



I'm with ya there JR I definately think Triumph fumbled the ball at the 1 yard line and in the most cruisial part of the game.

2 major components are missing on this flag ship bike ABS brakes is the one that baffels me the most especialy since they put them on 2 other IMO lesser models in there line up (Hmmm)

The second one is how in the heck could they perduce a top of the line flag ship Cruiser WITH OUT CRUISE CONTROL??????? and with no opption for it (DUH)

Ok so a Tach would have been nice aswell god knows there's room for one. But in truth I personaly would never use it.

The Road King , Road Glide and Street Glide all have the above opptions standard thus kick the r3t azz in every way except in power and that just should'nt be.

I not a big fan of HD mostly becuase of the reliabilty issues they have. But if they ever perduce a michine that does'nt spew oil all over the place and in some cases rite off the show room floor I would have to consider one (did he realy say that) lol

I'm still leaning towards the R3T but I was holding out for the 09's to reveal any improvments or up grades but sadly there are none.

Ignorance is bliss. You obviously haven't owned one in over 20 years or you wouldn't make that statement. They don't have a reliability issue.

There was indeed, for the 2007 year only. It wasn't exactly a separate model, like the Touring is, but a very well-equipped Classic. Bags, sissy bar, dual touring seat, floorboards, heel-toe, and the roadster windscreen. Roughly $2,500 in extras, but at half that cost over the Classic price.

I own a Phantom Black/Cardinal Red one.

Y Bob.... look like you are way into your bikes and demension few of us know.......I am 62 and know I have a love for the equipment that I am riding on but when I hear from you and the amount of miles and love of machine it will take me more time to absorb what you have.........such an appreciation you have....keep in touch with us ....I need to pick up on what you have obtained along the way.....

Don't get your panties in a bunch bro,

No bike is with out some native issues, HD just has more then most its a simple fact and 2008 has been one of there worse runs in resent times mainly the CVO line. And if you didn't know this then perhaps your the one that is Ignorant.
