Im thinking .... SUMMERTIME.. This is the first winter for 5 years for us and we are freezing our arses off. Rode home from the Brissy Blues Festival at 1.30am Sunday...was minus 6.3 ( we used to 33 and humid) SUMMER

Hey Tomcat you don't want the yanks to think you are a sooky girlie boy do you, besides I would rather not ride on a 33degree 90% humidity day( only good for extended stops at the Pub) more uncomfortable than the very temperate 20 to 26 degrees I have to put up with most of the year ......yeah Life's tough in paradise, I mean when was the last time you heard of a flood or cyclone hiting Batemans Bay

sorry I forgot to mention it does occasionly (once or twice a year) get down close to but rarely below 0

My humble suggestion ( and I have much for which to be humble ) is to go to Far North Queensland if it's winter and down south somewhere if it's summer.

Each of us meeting along the way and building a group to all ride in together has a lot of appeal to me, whether south to north or north to south - or even both and we meet in the middle. Winter in FNQ certainly would be good but bare in mind it's f'ing freezing down here at the moment (-5 the other night) and still a couple weeks until winter. Riding off into the warm would be nice but no so much fun on the return. Similar for you in summer I guess Ishmael with the wet up there.

Ok I have just just taken my med's and had a thought What about a rolling Rocket Around OZ continual tour. I know that's a bit much to think about but it has some good points.

Like , say I go from Cairns to Brissy , picking up along the way,then I go back and someone else picks up at ,say Rockhampton and goes through to northern NSW somewhere and so on?

We could organise for FNQ owners to head south picking up anyone along the way,meet up with the SEQ mob and then head south meeting up with the NSW,ACT,VIC,SA (and i guess anyone keen enough to come over from the west) blokes somewhere Mid-NSW. That way everyone would get a chance to ride with the owners from around where they come from on their way to meet-up place. Find somewhere with good riding roads (and a small police presence) either a town on the Great Dividing Range or coastal around Coffs as was suggested earlier. Then we could all enjoy some spirited riding around meet-up place together Just my thoughts.
