Happy Thanksgiving to all

and don't forget to give thanks.

Over the years, with all the commercialism surrounding Christmas, our family closed ranks and Thanksgiving has become our yearly family focal point.

We should love our loved ones every day, and let them know in deeds and words.

Then Thanksgiving becomes an amplification - a Fresnel lens - on the underlying glow.

As has been posted here in many different circumstances, we Rocket captains are better able, perhaps, to appreciate the true value of being six feet up instead of six feet under.

And when we help others feel good, 'tis said; those who shine light into the lives of others, cannot keep it from themselves.

Those American friends celebrating your annual holiday today.

Enjoy those bargains on the shops on Friday.

You have never been to the stores on Black Friday(why it is not called white Friday I do not know) well what it is in most cases a bunch of peasants running around wild knocking people or even their own children over just so they can save a buck ot two, but it is the American way, after all, they are not communists:D

Stores are not part of our experience -- intentionally so -- though I have to admit, the girls with their surgically attached handhelds, have bought in to the online economy, and the sounds of the holiday now include delivery vehicles and that telltale sound of a package being left at the front door.

A Canadian tried it - Gun store advertises "White Friday" sale but insists "nobody here is racist," "Black Friday" just reminds him of Trudeau scandal

Phar2slo - Thanks for the thoughts. I'm going to enjoy this Thanksgiving. Off all week, wife and I are staying home - no family, no travel, just peace and quiet. Got the annual check-up bloodwork today so I can eat guilt-free (at least he Dr won't nag). Already setting up for big sale Friday. Have a list of online purchases to be made.

But you will have to turn the TV and radio off, burn the paper, throw the phone in the cupboard with the PC and laptop and then pull out your vinyl collection and drown out the world to completely avoid it and that is here in OZ!;):D
