A sad day :(:(

My tow truck was red and my stripes yellow.
Other than that the look was similar!
Mine was $100, how 'bout youse? :p

I get two 100 mile and one 200 mile tows's per year by being a member of AAA.

I just gotta figure out how to get my sorry ass the 70 miles to the dealer to pick it up when it's done

Aren't you keyless @1olbull ? Did you flip the kill back on before walking away?
Regards the KeyLess system, even if he flipped the Kill back on, the Ignition would not have come back on - would have required another clutch lever pull.
(my SOP on my own bike is that I flip to Kill to shut it down, then typically back to Run right away anyway)
I suspected right off the bat that it had been 'killed' by dropping the side-stand with it in gear;
of course that will shut the engine off, but all the power circuits themselves (incl the headlights) will all remain alive.
That is indeed what happened.

How old is the battery? If you got it started, there's only two reasons it wouldn't last til home: battery won't take a charge, or alternator. I'd say most likely time for (another) new battery?
Those were my suspicions too - the battery was fairly new but tasked with supplying 10A for 90 - 12 mins.
Either R/R or stator got toasted by the jump start off running* truck or a Fuse blew (or battery just gave up ghost after being severely drained with headlights on for that prolonged period.

I've given 'Bull some checks and we'll see what that shows up.
The battery may have just been damaged and drawing high current into it from generator which eventually cooked the main fuse.
But all speculative at the minute .........

* The truck that jump-started the bike had engine running
Now - typically this will not cause an issue as long as it does not remain connected for prolonged time;
Truck/Car Alternator puts out higher voltage than bike; therefor when bike starts, the Regulator 'thinks' the voltage is too high and goes into full shunt mode (to 'try' to regulate itself);
With the high output of the Rocket Generator and a MOSFET R/R I'm honestly not sure of the consequences, so not saying this is absolutely the cause.
The urban legend about damaging bike 'electronics' is rubbish - the potential for any problem is only going to be to the generating system - and again, usually would require to remain connected for extended period after bike starts to cause an issue.
Bottom line - if Jump Starting from a vehicle there is simply no need to have the motor running, so better to just avoid that potential
Even car with the puniest of batteries is going to have more capacity than just about any bike battery and should be more than adequate to start the bike without need to have it running.

steve some years ago I had a similar problem although the bike kept going for a short time and then died turned out the stator alternator ( the one under the left center cover ) fried itself and would not put out any current . look and check.

@DEcosse if you flip it back to run do the lights go off after a certain amount of time after "walking away/disarming"? That's what I was doing, but I noticed if I did and went well out of range, say into the coffe shop, the lights were still on? I just started leaving the kill in off until I returned to the bike...time for some experiments ;)

With my keyless the kill switch and clutch are the ignition "ON".
Release of the clutch leaves the ignition "ON" and the lights as well.
I MUST break the bad habit of using the kickstand to shut down the motor.
Too easy to then climb off the motor, forget to turn off the kill switch and walk away.
This is what I did. Jump start was from a big-ass diesel pickup truck and perhaps I fried something.
What's strange to me is that all ran well for a couple miles when suddenly it shut down just like throwing the kill switch.

My battery tests a couple volts low and is now on the charger. We shall see . . .

If you 'Kill' it with the Kill Switch Crack, it should definitely NOT come back on just by setting back to 'Run' - would require another pull of the clutch

If you walk out of range, then back in again, does ignition come on as soon as you set to 'Run'?
That's not right ...........
Do you have McCruise by chance?
(we should take this off-line)

No, ignition still requires clutch. Maybe I just killed it with the stand those few times I've noticed and didn't realize it? I'll check it tomorrow. Only 4 more days of riding in Germany left :(
