Breaking the clutch shaft

Interesting you are near Peoria. I'll be in Peoria the end of August with my Bonnie and sidecar on the way back from Marne and Sibley. I have to stop in Peoria to pick up some products for the website.......

The bike's being serviced at MCC in Villa Park

My coworker reminded me of what he went through a few years ago w/ his goldwing. He's a very good rider and could do power wheelies, well one too many of those really screwed up the anti-dive sensors and his suspension was all messed up.

Honda had to send in engineers from Ohio to figure out the problem, needless to say he had no bike for about two months until it was finally repaired.

That was five years and 45000 miles ago and he still rides the **** out of it, so I should take a lesson from him and be patient

Theres the good news youve been waiting for. Dont sweat it :D Im sure its killing you. I had to wait almost 3 months to ride mine when I bought it in January!!!! I didnt take delivery until march!!!! It was driving me nuts, but once I got it and found a safe time to ride it (salt, water runoff from winter) my symptoms went away!;)

So sit back and assess what accessories or safety equipment you want to add then plan a one of those trips to go on and before you know it your bike will be back!!!
Good Luck!:D

I didn't know there was anyone left in Midland. I thought everyone left when DuPont just about went tits up. The Hooters in Bay City isn't bad. Good view, marginal food. Never been to Krzysziaks. When I get near Bay City, I get the DT's in preperation of ascending the Zawaukee. Somehow, going over a bridge that high with a dip in the middle isn't inspiring.

I won't have the Rocket, I'll be trailering the 790. It's way too far to ride a little bike and my wife's arse is too tender as well.

Bikes finally done, and Im about done w/ Triumph

Dealer called me today and told me the clutch has been fixed, complete replacement of the clutch. So Triumph wont cover it under warantee and my repair bill is...

$890!!!

Im f--kin speechless, I have no choice but to pay I havent had a working bike since mid-april.

Is there anyone I can appeal to about this, I mean I bought the bike w/ 1700 miles on it and I only put 1300 miles on it and I need an entire new clutch. According to the dealer Triumph wont cover it under warantee because I didnt buy the bike from a Triumph dealer and it has an unknown service history.

Well this is my 1st experience w/ Triumph ownership, I can tell you buyers remorse doesnt begin to describe what Im feeling right now

eight hundred and ninety f--kin dollars...

Im really hatin all things Triumph right now

I find that interesting and bull****te as well. The bike's VIN will detail it's history and/or any services performed or issues addressed.

I'm thinking that we need to see a copy of the workorder and parts replaced. Seems to be more here than what usually happens. Triumph is really good about standing behind their products.

It's like the TDU and the upgrades. They are entirely dependent on VIN, not purchase date or subsequent owners.

Also ask your dealer for all of the old parts. Check your clutch lifter piece.

Sounds like there trying to get more money out of this than allowed. Triumph might not be paying well for this warranty work so they charge you. How is Triumph supposed to know they charged you and how are you supposed to know if its covered under warranty. I am a very suspicious person so I would dig into this and definetely make some calls. Start with Triumph USA. Keep us posted and good luck!!!! Also I would get the old parts and itemized bill and pay it so you can get your bike. Triumph will reimburse you if it goes that way.

No matter what state you reside in, you are entitled (by law) to the old parts unless the parts need to be returned to the manufacturer for warranty reasons or reconditioning. The, you can't have them but you are entitled to see the parts replaced before they get sent back.

Triumph may at their discrestion, not allow you to have the replacemeed parts if the parts are warranted, even if the parts don't have to be returned, but you still have the right to see and inspect those parts.

Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act specifically states your rights. It also covers the use of lubricants and parts sold by aftermarket suppliers pertaining to warranty claims.

Something stinks in Denmark.....
