Be very careful what you use on the wheels with the newer bikes .... the clear coat is very soft and will get softer with the wrong chemicals. My wheels look like **** already just from small lumps of hot brake dust stuck/melted into the coating. They now look and feel like the surface of the moon, rough specks of black stuck oll over the clear coat. YUK!
I just talked to a guy who does a glass finish to the wheels for $50 with a three year warranty. They say brake dust and dirt doesn't stick to it and it has UV protection as well. Sounds like a good system, I will try it on my spare rear wheel after getting it polished to see how good it is.
Anything has to be better than the finish on my 08, you can actually press your thumbnail into the clear coat and leave a mark it's so soft. Anything hot or high velocity sticks into the coating and leaves the surface pitted.
