What do you guys use to get the break dust and chain lube (for those of you with those types of bikes) off of your wheels and calipers? WD40 is the best thing I've found, but you have to be REAl careful not to get it on the rotors (for obvious reasons). Don't ask me how I know about the rotors.

This is what you use on your R3 ?
http://www.skygeek.com/10013.html#topACF-50 is a top corrosion protector for all refined metals and a best friend to any aircraft owner. It penetrates joints, rivets, seams, and hinges, killing corrosion immediately by removing moisture. ACF-50 even has the capability to remove saltwater, but it will not loosen any rivets or secured joints. The compound is safe on metals, plastics, paints, and seals, and can treat your surface in all types of environments. It is clean and free of toxics and greasy residue. Additionally, only one treatment will remove corrosion and continue protecting your plane for a full two years. ACF-50 is also approved for airframes and electrical and avionics systems, under the Navy’s 81309E Type II Class 1 Regulations. The convenient, 13 ounce aerosol can, makes any job easy.

RocketDaryl,
Bet that was a upholstery repair. I haven't had to clean the rotors yet but I keep a can of brake cleaner around. Spray some on a rag and wipe.
The wheels are uncoated aluminum and using car wax or rain x after a good polish helps with the next polish. You dont have to work as hard to get them clean.

Yep...

Thats the fella.

This is getting rave reviews in the UK - seems just about capable of anything - pretty much does everything you need, barring on the wheels.

Personally, I met another rocket owner in London at a bike shop, he had a 3 year old Rocket 3, and was onto his second pair of wheels within the warranty period - this is after riding through two winters in the UK - which are very salty and corrosive..

Clearly the wheels are a weak spot. Until we all get carbon fibre wheels or some decent aluminium alloy wheels (forged Marchesini anyone?!?!?!?) then I agree that we should all wax (whatever you like, just coat the **** wheels!) bare aluminium on the Rocket 3. Its not the highest grade of aluminium sadly.. you can have stuff which is twice as light AND twice as strong, but its probably 4 times as expensive (like with everything..)

Theres a lot of hype about ACF-50 - so if its good enough for USN planes (exposed to salty sea spray and knuckledragger abuse) then its tough enough for us is the theory anyways..
