bit of help needed

Yes you need to do ISCV reset after checking and or changing the TPS sensor. This sync's the tps unit both primary and secondary with the idle stepper motor position. I am betting your idle stepper zero throttle position is off a wee bit. And your bike being an 08 it might still have the older style tps in it.
Also it is a good idea to check and re-crimp the low voltage wires going to the coils (Two on each) they work loose after time but a pair of pliers can fix that.

bit of an update.

I bought a laptop borrowed a cable

loaded two different tune's that i'd recieved from fellow captains. found out that I hadnt reset the tps or the adaptations. fired it up and it was like a brand new bike... for about a minute. after that 1st minute it settled down into a low idle (not hunting like it usually does though). It never once died on me though. the little tps light did turn green in the software but i still wonder if maybe that's the cause.

one more question. dealer wants $135 for the tps. I doubt triumph makes their own tps so maybe just maybe the tps they use is one that is used on other vehicles aswell...

does anyone know of an interchange for the tps?

thanks,
Steve

Steve - If only we knew. I wonder if it's the same as TPS's fitted to other Triumphs though - might make googling easier.
