Fitted Cobras on my R3R several months ago - stock sizes - I can't complain about the handling compared to the heavy countersteer I had with Excedra max and stock Metz. I have covered 8,000km so far mostly on secondary roads with not so good pavement the front is starting to wear on RHS a little the rear is still pretty good - no chicken strips. I would say the worst thing for Avon's is the high temperatures here in summer. It's common for us to ride in summer with road surface temps in excess of 100F, no tire is going to last long in those temps. The Metz shred itself at those high temps which is why I replaced it with the "Avon", it's cooler now (70F) and the tires are loving it so the wear rate has slowed somewhat - grip is great front and rear.
