2013 Rocket 3 Touring should Buy used or new?


I think it's more a case of him feeling the bike sliding out from under and trying to "parry" with the steering instinctively. To me it seems like he keeps the bike straight until it starts to slide, then steers into the turn to try to stop the rear from sliding out.

But even so, if you lock the front on a slippery surface, the bike will hit the ground in less than a second, which is faster than human reaction speed. To the rider, it will be a sequence of first hitting the brake, and then finding themselves sliding next to or under their bike. This is panic braking we're talking about here, ie unplanned reactions rather than a controlled stop. Anyone think they're not prone to panic braking? Anyone who does needs ABS extra much because clearly they're lying to themselves.
 
@Victor Chiappetta I say the heat is realitive to the time of day and the speed at which you can travel. I love the heat when the temp drops below freezing and its not bad at speed. When I get stuck in stop and go traffic, any of the 28 bikes I've had before will get miserable hot. I just wait for the moment I can let the bike take a deep breath and clear the herd of cages.
For long hot rides this summer, you may want to get a BeadRider seat cover. I think it is one of the best pieces of kit I've added to any bike.

Well can't have everything,no ABS.
Have any of you good folks used the TuneECU to remap to full power?Not looking to do any major mods but definitely interested in getting the most for my money if a simple refresh is the answer.
And thanks for the welcome good sir.Glad to almost be a part of the tribe.Cant wait to post pics of that beauty in my garage!
 
Never had a bike with ABS so can not comment on the subject, there is a way to unrestrict it on the older models but don't know about the newer ones @HansO will have the answer to that one if i am correct
 
@Victor Chiappetta you bought this one as a new "leftover", correct? So full 2 year warranty? If so, you may want to put a gipro ATR on it instead of remapping? Depending on your dealer there seems to be a lot of warranty question marks when you flash a non triumph tune on there? Completely up to you, but something to consider? The ATR would "de-restrict" your first three gears as well by "fooling" the bike. Either way you go, you can open her power up congrats on your new beastie!
 
Sounds by good,now what the heck is a Gipro ATR?Did a search and found one other thread mentioned it but I have no idea what it is
 
Here's a few threads. They were much more popular before tuneecu really caught on and for those of us with the older bikes and no gear indicator they were a double bonus.

Bottom line is you really only need one or the other (ATRE or new tune). You can do more with the tune, but the gipro will unlock your first three gears for you until your warranty expires.
