2013 R3 Roadster Review

i recently went for Progressive 444s and the aforementioned Bridgestone Exedra Max rear tire. I think (whatever shock you get) a +10 mm lift along with the extra height on the exedra will help feed your hunger for aggressive maneuvering. The 444s are also a MASSIVE improvement over the stock Roadster shocks. I feel significantly more planted over bumps and through curves.

I've never driven a Vrod but I know the stock Roadster produces about 2x the torque and similar power/weight. It could be you're just not polishing that throttle hard enough to make her feel faster (not that I recommend you overstep your good judgment)

Great writeup! Thanks for sharing!!

You're probably right on that, Norseman. I've been relatively gentle in first gear (I can tell that front wheel wants to come up), but also have had the back tire come loose several times in second and also slipped a few times in third coming out of a corner. I am still chicken about ripping her in first gear.

I don't mean to imply anyone is ignorant or otherwise if they're fine with the stock shocks. The feel is certainly subjective and, as always, YMMV.

Standard config, I recon is OK to open it up in first. yes it does feel like the front wants to come up, and it does very gently. put some Reband exhaust and triple filters on with a tune and you WILL find air under your front wheel very easily.

Hey I haven't hijacked a thread with a tangent recently! (today)

Mittz do you know what the weight savings is between the Reband and stock? When mine came in the mail they weighed no more than 15 lb end to end and the stock pipes have got to way 60+.

I don't know how much the Rebands weight but I do know the standard Roadster mufflers and the crossover pipe weigh 18 kilos and the single muffler I run now weighs 2 kilos.

Thats hooning mate 3 times and there'll be a Roadster at the police auction.

Question about price

Great write up. It is especially helpful since I am thinking about buying one. I have the opportunity to buy a used 2013 Roadster with about 400 miles on it for $12,600. Can anyone assist with whether this is just a great price or whether I should try to get them lower? I appreciate it.

Hi and Welcome, before some one comes and tells you too
wonder over to the "Introduce Yourself!!" Forum and let us All Welcome you properly and tell about yourself where you are from etc, in answer to your Question if you were here in Auss that would be an awesome price
