Just wanted to post that my 2005 R3 has finally achieved 100,000 miles. I'm very pleased with the bike. It's still running 145 mph and I ride this beast hard everywhere I go. The engine is still strong and the only mechanical problem I've ever had was the output shaft bearings early on. These of course were replaced under warranty. I've gone thru 3 sets of clutch plates and a starter. I'm running straight open exhaust that I paid $9 for at the auto parts store. It improved torque and hp as tested on the dyno. I'm running the dark side since 54,000 miles and still haven't changed the rear tire, although it definitely needs one this week. 100,000 may not seem like a lot of riding in 10 years but I have had 5 other motorcycles in which I've ridden a total of about 90,000 combined during that time. It's not garaged at all and has say outside in very extreme weather. I have had numerous electrical issues which I've worked out over the years. I've laid it down twice on the ice and the insurance company totaled it once. All cosmetic. I don't see myself riding anything else unless Triumph makes a bigger bike
