Well... I decided that I would take the bike to dealer for the 10,000 mile check, a phone call to them for a guesstimate of $500-$750... I swallowed hard and took the bike on a very cold 40 mile run to the dealer who just called to say the bike was done.....

The only concern they said was the rear end oil was black and needed to go.. Other than that , valves and all other things adjusted and no other issues were found.

The service manager said all the techs were drooling over the bike because of the changes I had made. It was the first one they had with modifications made to it. Made me feel good when he said it was a true Rocket and very impressive....

And then he said for $960 plus taxes I could have it back....

:(:(:( Thats a penny or two but hey they liked it right

Well at least you'll have peace of mind knowing everything is in order. I remember my first 10K+ the stealer called and told me to come and pick it up,i almost had heart failure. $862.00 for a set of tires $50 to clean and grease the splines and $600 to adjust the valves. $1512.00:eek::( When i think back he probably didn't even touch the valves. Those who don't have the time, place or know how pay the price..

I replaced the oil in my diff the other day. First time! Over 65,000km. It was barely discoloured at all (and I couldn't believe how little came/went it).
That's a lot of coin for service Curt. Maybe they charged you a cleaning fee to get all the drool off. ;) Still it's good to know everything's OK, especially as it will most likely be your last R3T. Clever of them thought - butter you up and then slug you.

Well, it will be the last time I take it. It is from what I have seen work I can do.. I just thought I would play it safe the first time and take in, wanted to make sure my messing with the bits I had, had caused no harm too... I was ok with $750... But the extra 200 they are going to have to explain to me.... Cause when I left the dealer the invoice I signed said $742....

Oil, Oil Filter, rear end fluid, various seals and gaskets, spark plugs, can of brake cleaner.... $215.27
Labor.... $657
Total with Tax... $937.71

I have to do a 20K.
No valve noise whatsoever. I changed diff oil and lube at 10K & shall do it again.
I'll do the oil, the filter and the K&Ns as well.
I think I shall spend my money on other stuff.
