    Two things to remember...

If you have a key-less ignition, make sure you actually shut the bike off when parking it. I, for my sins, use the kickstand to shut the bike down. Then press the "off" button to shut the bike down. Yesterday I forgot the second step. A little over an hour later I returned to a bike with a...

    Ramps

So, I'm putting together a trailer to haul the R3 so that I can get some more interesting rides in with Mrs J3 this year. What I need now is a decent set of ramps. I have a set but found out last night that the beast is a bit too heavy for them (don't ask how I found out :banghead:) Anyone...

    Is that Rocket for rent?

Dropped off a buddy at Eagle Rider in Vegas on Friday (I was in town for a trade show). To my amazement there was a Rocket (Roadster) parked outside in amongst all the HDs. While my buddy was signing away his life savings for a one day rental, I got chatting with the staff. "Is that Rocket for...

    Insurance in Ontario

'tis the season, to get raped by the insurance companies again. I realize this is for a limited audience but, I'm wondering who the Ontario captains use for insurance. I just got my renewal in the mail and it's gone up 30% over last year! My is with TD by the way

    Jump start battery

I bought THIS about 18 months ago. Fully charged it, put it in my Sissy Bar Bag and forgot about it. This past Wednesday I took the bike out and when I got back, shut it off with the kickstand (as per) but forgot to shut the ignition off. Some time later I noticed, but it was way too late. I...

    Totally Keyless

Have had a keyless ignition since I owned the bike and, as such, the original key/steering lock is gone. Mounted a toggle switch for the stereo (speakers shown) where there OEM switch used to live. Just received the filler cap all the way from good old Hong Kong and installed it in about two...

    Oil change woes. Help please!

So I just changed my oil. Removed all three plugs and the filter. Replaced all of the above and proceeded to pour the new oil in. Started off with 2 x 1L jugs then a 4 L. Just before the 4L was empty (I was just about to stop) the oil came flooding out of the filler hole. Having run the engine...

    Speaker mount

Anyone have any pictures of how they've mounted speakers? I have a cheap set of Boss speakers and I'm trying to figure out how to mount them. Some sort of clamp or maybe on the mirror mount?

    Installing Progressive 430 Help

I'm installing Progressive 430s on the R3. Does it make sense that I don't seem to need any of the bushings to install? The rubber bushings pre-installed slide right on with no bushing (tight fit). What I find odd is when I put the bolts back in, the washer squishes the rubber bushing. It...

    Shocks or Seat?

I'm thinking of making my ride a little more comfortable and, given that I don't have a bottomless pit of cash, which would you suggest to do first? I'm looking at the Progressive 444s and/or a Corbin Dual Tour. Cheers

Tire question (please don't shoot me)

I have searched here but cannot find the specific answer. I have a relatively new Metzeler on the front and am now in need of a rear. The guy at shop I go to is a bit of a stickler for matching brands. I've read good things about the Bridgestone rear tire so my question is... Is it OK to...

    Replacement Bars

I have a 2007 R3 Classic and the issue I have lately is that I get pain in my right shoulder after riding for a while. I already have Rivco risers which help a bit but I think maybe a different style of bar may be the answer. Any suggestions for replacement bars that may help?

    Left Hand Turns

We are constantly being reminded to look out for people turning left across our paths. We all need to take the same riding course that these guys took and it would no longer be an issue https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/4phFYiMGCIY?rel=0

    It's about time!!

Got out on the bike for the first time since October! Still some snow around but none on the roads. There were some patches of sand left over from the salt trucks but I was prepared for that. The other good news is we had some decent rain already so the actual salt should all be gone now...

    Exhaust Installation

I know some may think this is a backward step but... I rented a bike recently and it was very quiet and I couldn't help thinking how nice it was. Also I'd like to be able to mount a stereo at some point and be able to hear it. I am contemplating putting my stock exhaust back on. The bike...

    OBD2 Software

Not sure if this is the right place so if it's not I apologize. I bought an OBD2/USB cable for Power-Tripp and I was wondering... Can that same cable be used to connect to a car? If so, does anyone know of any, preferably free, software for reading error codes suing that cable? Cheers Jthree

    Las Vegas day trip

Looks like I may be renting a bike in Las Vegas in March. Any suggestions for a good, day long, ride? I've done the Hoover dam thing many times so, not that way :-)
